Hi, I’m Amber — a pluralistic psychotherapist with a Master’s in Counselling from the University of Edinburgh and nearly five years’ experience supporting people through life’s challenges.
I work with teenagers, adults, and neurodivergent clients who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or just not quite themselves. My approach is warm, grounded, and gently challenging. I believe therapy should be shaped by your needs and your voice — not just my expertise.
As a neurodivergent person myself, I know what it’s like to navigate a world that isn’t always designed with you in mind. I don’t see neurodivergence as something to “fix” — I see it as a powerful and valid way of experiencing life.
I also understand that being neurodivergent often means moving through a world that misunderstands or dismisses you — where things like sensory overload, social exhaustion, masking, or executive functioning challenges can feel overwhelming or isolating. Therapy can be a space to make sense of that, to reconnect with your strengths, and to explore your identity without shame or pressure to conform.
In therapy, I honour the richness, sensitivity, and creativity that often comes with neurodivergence, while also holding space for the very real challenges. My counselling room is designed with neurodivergent comfort in mind: soft lighting, the option to stim or move around, fidgets available, and full permission to just be yourself.
Supporting teenagers is one of the most meaningful parts of my work. I know how isolating it can feel to be misunderstood, or to feel like you have to hide parts of yourself to fit in. I offer young people a space where they can show up exactly as they are — no pressure, no judgment, no masks. I aim to be the kind of therapist I wish I had as a teen: kind, curious, laid-back, and real. Together, we explore what’s really going on underneath the surface, and work towards self-trust and clarity.
I bring my whole self to this work — grounded, thoughtful, and open. I value honesty, humour, and humanity in the room. I won’t push you where you’re not ready to go, but I’ll walk beside you with compassion and care.
My practice is rooted in person-centred therapy, which means I believe you already hold the answers — even if things feel messy or unclear right now. My role isn’t to give advice or diagnoses, but to create a safe, boundaried space where you can explore what’s going on and reconnect with your own voice, your power, and your potential.
I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and I practise in line with their ethical framework. But for me, ethics aren’t just rules — they’re a core part of how I work. I love ethical practice. It’s what creates real safety and allows for deep, steady, and respectful therapeutic work.
If you're feeling stuck, low, overwhelmed, or simply in need of a space to breathe and figure things out — let’s talk. You can book a free 10-minute intro call to see if we’re a good fit. No pressure, no obligation — just a chance to connect.
I work mostly from a person-centred approach, which means I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, accepted, and supported — just as you are. I trust that when you're met with empathy and respect, healing and change can happen naturally.
That said, no two people are the same — so I don’t work with a one-size-fits-all model. I’ll always tailor our work to what feels most helpful for you.
Sometimes I bring in psychodynamic thinking, gently exploring how early relationships or past experiences might still be shaping how you feel and relate today. This can help bring unconscious patterns into the light, where they can be understood and worked through with care.
I also use elements of "parts work" — tuning into the different parts of you that might show up in different moments. Maybe one part of you wants to move forward, while another feels stuck or scared. I’ll support you in getting to know these inner voices with curiosity and compassion.
I find this especially powerful when working with neurodivergent people — those who have often been made to feel like parts of them are too much, too sensitive, or not enough. If you've spent years masking or trying to fit in, therapy can be a space to gently unmask and reconnect with the parts of you that have been shamed, hidden, or dismissed. You don’t have to pretend here.
At the heart of my work is relationship — a therapeutic relationship that is kind, equal, and real. I’ll meet you wherever you’re at, and we’ll figure it out together, at your pace.
Each session is 50 minutes long and costs £65. I offer sessions online and in-person from my practice in Edinburgh.
I also keep a few reduced-rate spaces available — please feel free to ask if this would make therapy more accessible for you.
Adults (16+)
For people feeling stuck, anxious, burnt out, or unsure. Maybe you’re masking, people-pleasing, or trying to hold everything together. You don’t have to do it alone.
Teenagers (12–16 years old)
For teens navigating anxiety, identity, friendships, school pressure, big feelings, or just needing a space of their own.
I offer a no-pressure intro chat for parents and teens, and I’ll always go at your child’s pace.
Neurodivergent clients are welcome
Whether you’re diagnosed, self-identifying, or still figuring it out — my space is affirming, sensory-considerate, and masking-free.
